Is it possible to automatically attach new MT messages to a documentary record?

Scroll Prev Top Next More

It is possible to.

When receiving a MT message on a communication channel or when loading from an external file, an automatic analysis of its contents is performed. As a result of this analysis, values of SWIFT fields are extracted, by which the system attempts to rotate the received MT message to an existing documentary dossier. In case of failure, the system marks the message as unrecognizable.

Attaching MT to a document file is a contextual task and could be done as follows:

a)By priority when receiving ACK / NAK retrieves MUR based on which the message is attached to a file. More information about processing ACK / NAK can be found here;

b)When processing MT on an external communication channel, the content of the 20th or 21st field is considered according to the type of message - whether it is outgoing or incoming. Typically, these fields contain the reference number issued for the type of documentary operation, such as a letter of credit, a collection or a warranty. The system relies on these numbers being filed correctly and looking for a relevant dossier;

c)When processing MT from an external file, the context in which the operation is performed is counted. Unlike an external communication channel processing, attaching a MT to a file does not depend on the 20th or 21th field, but only on the context (when sending, for example), if a SWIFT file is loaded, then a file is attached to the selected documentary record. The user should be careful when performing this manual operation.
