Why the documentary record down not update automatically MT700?

Scroll Prev Top Next More

There are two situations where PTM processes the MT700:

1)When a letter of credit is received

2)When a new letter of credit is issued

When a letter of credit is received, the system receives the MT700 and automatically generates a new Letter of Liability Receipt.

When a new letter of credit is issued, it passes through the preparation stage.

To understand why the MT700 does not update the dossier, let's explain the meaning of the centralized documentary record.

The PTM documentary record (dossier) serves as a buffer between various in-house documents (such as orders, for example) and communication messages that are broadcast or received in the system.

This role of the dossier is essential in the automation of business processes as the reasons for changing the dossier are mainly due to internal documents or automatically when receiving a certain MT message. The dossier contains the latest verified information as a result of the business processes.

On the other hand, when generating MT messages, the document file plays the role of a template from which the necessary fields are copied and valid SWIFT messages are generated according to the MT 2017 standard. These messages can be copied and edited multiple times. There are a number of situations where it is necessary to keep previous versions for reference or old messages to be used as templates for generating new messages.

In order to unify and automate the business process between in-house documents and communications, when transmitting a new letter of credit, the relationship between the document file and the MT700 generated is unidirectional - from the dossier to the MT700.
